The weather has been absolutely beautiful here...this is the park behind our hotel. The temperature is in the mid 60s, but it is very important for me to keep Zhanna bundled up--notice the hood up! Many of the other children are still wearing snow suits, but so far we are okay with the jacket and hood. The background is all apartment buildings, there are no single family homes here in Karaganda.
We are just waking up here on Wednesday even though it is 9:30pm Tuesday night there. We are going to breakfast in the hotel, then to visit Zhanna's new baby Madina ( spelled with an "a" not an "e" as previously blogged!) then off to the store to buy pampers and wipes for the baby.
Zhanna is growing up so fast here--no more tubbies for her, she has learned how to take a "rain bath" in the shower, as there is no tub, or really hot water for that matter!! Although the weather is warm, the heat is still on...so that is why the sweat in all the photos. We had the window open in the hotel last night, but there were too many bugs and no screens, so...we all were warm and cozy last night!
Grammy probably thought she would be learning some Russian while here, but I think she is learning much more Spanish as we watch "Big Sister Dora" for the umpteenth time! We will try to post more later...hope all is well with everyone at home! Please keep the email coming!!

Did Zhanna like the big camel? Keep the pictures coming. Ahmma
Christine, Zhanna, Gabba,
Did the staff in the baby house remember Zhanna? What does Z. think of so many children in one place? Is Madina starting to crawl?
Your weather is better than ours - torrential downpours off and on all day. When do we get to see a picture of mommy and her girls? gabba looked quite happy with the kids in her arms.Sending good thoughts your way.

Congratulations...what a beautiful little girl!!! Madina looks healthy and happy. Maya was the same age when we completed her adoption. Zhanna, congratulations on becoming a big sister - how exciting..I'm sure you're a big help to mommy. Keep the pics coming. Happy Bonding!!

So how do you like the Doctar Hotel? Which size room did you get? How is the crib-did you buy a blanket to put in the bottom?
I bet you are getting alot of evil stares by not having Zhanna in a snowsuit. When we got there in June, it was in the 80s and they made us put a sweater and long pants on Chloe. Funny thing is that 2 weeks later when it was 110, they had all the kids outside with no shirts and just shorts on. All the adults were still wearing jeans though-it was sooo hot.
What a cutie!! Can we call her Maddy? I have to think of some cute nickname. Oh my GOD, I am in a school and the librarian just said "Madina, you don't have a pass to be here" swear to heavens. Wierd!!
See you soon will write
The teacher
Chris, how is the food? How is Zhanna doing going to the orphanage? I wonder if she has any memories. Send pictures of you and the girls..
Have fun,
Beth
Hi Christine! Hope all is well! Madina is beautiful!! How is the food? If Beth and I were there, we'd probably starve because we're so picky! Is Zhana a picky eater? The weather looks nice. Is there a chance any of the children are related to one another? Enjoy your bonding time and take care! Love and Prayers, Karen
Christine, Everything lookes like its going well. Seton may need to put in a day care. Hurry back
